New Lamborghini Gallardo Cabrera

Exclusive images show how new Lamborghini Gallardo will look when it is unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Spy shots of the new Lamborghini Gallardo have hit the web – exclusive images have been produced to show you how the sharper, sleeker ‘mini Aventador’ will look once the camouflage comes off.

As we previously reported, Lamborghini's upcoming Ferrari 458 rival – expected to be named Cabrera – gets the firm’s classic wedge-shaped profile, but several subtle details mark it out from its predecessor.

The bonnet is longer and lower, while the rear end is higher. A trio of intakes dominate the Cabrera’s bumper. And two additional vents bulge from its flanks, just ahead of the rear wheelarches.

The newcomer will reportedly feature the 5.2-litre V10 that powers the current LP 570-4, except it will be tuned to produce an additional 38bhp, ramping-up its output to 600bhp and offering lower emissions.

And the V10 will partner a seven-speed dual-clutch box rather than the e-gear automated manual. While weight will be kept to a minimum thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre and aluminium – in fact, the Cabrera should tip the scales at a lean 1,300kg.

The all-new Gallardo is set to be unveiled as a concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September before going on sale in 2014.
